Smart Energy Shots was founded in January of 2009 by Elliott Johnson, your average guy who enjoys having a good time, partying and eating foods that aren't what one would call, um healthy.

In May of 2005, after reaching a whopping 303 lbs, Elliott decided to educate himself on Healthy Living.  He dedicated himself to working out, and eating healthy.  Part of this journey was cutting back on alcoholic drinks. 

Still wanting to go out and have a good time, he found himself with a dilemma.  What should he drink while out and about?  Bar after bar, club after club he realized something.  There are no options that satisfied him.   His choices were often, orange juice, club soda, cranberry juice, which were typically bar grade(low quality).  Red bull wasn't an option, too much sugar and way too much caffeine for his liking.  Where is my premium Non-Alcoholic drink?

At this moment he decided to search for a drink that would allow him to drink healthy and not be ostracized by his friends for doing so.  Not finding exactly what he was looking for, he decided to create it himself.  

Since he was not a scientist, he hired a team of experts, with combined knowledge of over 100 years of experience, to work alongside him.  The concept was simple.  Create a natural beverage that one could drink alone, or mix into other beverages.  

Great taste, with no sugar, no artificial sugar, and no calories was a must.  Also, he didn't want it to come in a can, he thought this drink should be elegant and chic.  Something that his friends would envy if he ordered it while out on the town.  With that in mind, a sleek, frosted glass bottle was created.  

Now when Elliott goes to the bar, he has a slew of options if he has decided not to drink alcohol for the evening.  Any drink that his friends order with Vodka, or Tequila, he simply orders with a Smart Energy Shot instead.  Because of the frosted glass bottle, it goes unnoticed by most of his friends.  Friends that do notice, do not tease him for not drinking, they simply give him a nod of approval.
